A HAIRDRESSER''S NIGHTMARE CLIENT

'Dulcie'  by  Tush
To have my hair trimmed, was always a miserable affair,
I felt they'd like to have cut my throat, not just my hair.
I didn't like, how they washed my locks, or the shampoo used,
I'd cough, snort, grimace, snarl, they were close to being abused.

But then one day I wondered, what was I torturing myself, about?
All I went through in the salon, was worse than any  hefty  clout!
I puzzled, night and day, how to be free of hair care forever,
I thought of going bald, I was now at the end of my tether..

My head is very sensitive, it doesn't like any form of touch,
Not hats, or scarves, or?  it's allergic to, all things, pretty much.
What to do? what to do? to be rid of all my misery and stress?
I did try to cut my own hair, it was definitely not a success.

One difficult day, when the hairdresser, cut my long earring in half,
My nerves went snap! and I laughed!and laughed! and laughed!!
They had to call an ambulance, I was hysterical, completely out of control,
They wheeled me out on a trolley, and requested a police patrol.

The laughter just kept on, it even began to grow worse,
As if that wasn't enough, I got hick-ups and began to shout and curse.
'Damn groomed hair, be damned to good looks, (lots of naughty words)

Hair's a woman's, crowning glory? they can keep that for the birds!'.

(The picture of 'Amazed' is that of another woman gone mad, over the 'State of her Hair'. We remained firm  friends for the rest of her long life, and neither of us  went near a salon, ever again, even though a hairdresser visited once a week, and had been doing so,(so Amazed told me) for twenty years.

UNFINISHED SONGS

'Madame Baronovitch'  by  Trish  1994
This is my friend, she sings 'opera', she's a mezzo soprano.
She can also play, accordion and electric piano.
Her neck and jaw, are rather long, much to her delight,
She says, it's a gift, from nature, and allows tremendous height,
Of notes only known to birds flying freely in the bush.
My friend, demonstrates, raises her head, opens wide and goes, whoosh!

There is a little  problem, she wants to overcome,
It's to do with her words, sounding all,  a - plum,
Instead of crisp, and pure, a pleasure to the listener's ear,
Sometimes ( not only to me), she sounds, downright queer.

In spite of nature's gifts, of long vocal cords, and long neck,
There are issues, but mostly they're, (I'd say) all in her own head.
So what if her vocal cords go mutter, wobble, fizz, and splutter.
What if her vibrato is wide, as a highway in Italy, or long as Autostrada. (A 'Long!'road in Italy  for high speed drivers)

The point of song and music, is, its a food for heart  and soul,
If you can sing along with others, you're never left out in the cold.
So even if my friend, does at times (not always) sound right odd,
To hold that against her, would make me, a mean, rotten little sod!

THERE'S A TWIST TO IT

'Maybe'  by  Trish
There's a turn  in the eye,
Who can say why?
And if someone can,
Will it alter the plan?

Perhaps not at all,
Still, a blunt edge may fall,
But unless, the turn be repaired,
One is still running scared.

LITTLE GIRL

See this little girl, with her skipping rope,
'Magic'  by  Trish   1995
She's dancing full of joy and a lot of hope.
Childhood days, they say, are  magical and more,
What happened to the 'more- magic', that was there before?

Sweet children all ashine, with a glowing light.
A sheen of gold, upon their skin, when asleep at night.
Hair that shines all mirrory, cheeks,of  softest powder pink, hue,
It's so magical! I just can't imagine where it's gone? can you?

RUDY AND MR HONER

' Rudy'  by  Trish  1995
Rudy wanted to play baseball, but he had no bat,
He made himself cap and  gloves, and that took care of  that.
But to be the real deal, and really play the game,
Rudy knew,  he had to have a bat, to uphold his name.

He spoke to Mr Honer, who had always lived next door,
Mr Honer said 'I think I've got, just what your looking for.'
Down the garden path they, marched, straight to the shed,
'I knew I'd seen it somewhere, a cricket bat, and here it is', Mr Honer said .

Now Rudy was a kind boy, he liked his neighbor very much,
Of late, he'd noticed, he now used a sort of, walking-stick, crutch,
Maybe he could get the paper on his way from school, each day,
If he saved enough pocket money, maybe he could even pay.

When he told his old friend, how he hoped to repay, him like that,
Mr Honer said 'Now don't you give, another thought, about the bat
You're a good friend of mine, we've known each other, all your life, five or six years,
Now off you go wee one, not another word, nothing's sillier, than an old fool, in tears

SISTER CAT

'Sis'  by  Trish
This is 'Sis' the sister, of Mother Cat.
She's not like her sister, a bit of a bat.
She lives in the country, but comes to town,
When country life begins to bore her, to look around.

Last time she visited her sister in the city,
She thought to herself, 'Oh my, it's such a pity,
I can't find myself a comfortable little place,
Here in the city, for heavens sake, there's plenty of space'.

One night as she lay, thinking deeply, in her country bed,
She was so lost in thought, she didn't even hear the mice in her shed.
Then came a little idea, what if each night she put her thoughts in a jar,
And every now and then, tipped them out and read what her messages are.

Now to some folk, this idea may sound rather silly,
But don't be too hasty to dismiss it, as all willy nilly,
Many's the message we have tucked away inside, for, our self.
It's a true story of inner direction, told to me, by, my aunt Nell.

WHAT TO DO?

'Damsel in Distress'  by  Trish  1994
PLAITING A WAY TO FREEDOM
--------------------------------------
She grew her hair very long,
But it didn't help at all,
Too late, she'd realized,
The window was too small,

Escape must be made
But done some other way,
For now she'd feign content,
With just a small hand wave.

'The Rainbow Woman'  by  Trish 1994
FEASTING ON RELIGION
-------------------------------
Devouring sacred symbols is a  very dangerous thing,
It can affect one strangely, even  stop the urge to sing.
It does what most things, may do, if taken to excess,
Cause misery, anxiety, fear, and instead of peace, distress.

'Signs Signaling  Symptoms'  by  Trish  1994
TOO MANY SIGNS
---------------------These signs are a jumble, Symptoms of fatigue,
Knowledge of their meaning, is of another league.
When the mind is adrift, there can be hell to pay,
No one can predict, any second on any day.
