A HEART’S DELIGHT

It’s the child’s delight that makes one smile
The open heart, the lack of need, to beguile
The reaching out with an eager open heart
The forever and full belief, at the very start
That those they love, will be there, always
Each morn is exciting, yes, each new day
Is a dance  they do with their  open heart
Their delight at all, creates, a silver laugh.

TICKLING THE OLD IVORIES

Tickle the old ivories, well, so I’ve heard some say
Why, I tickle the old brain,  well, each and every day!
Don’t let those old  connections, fade, rust and then rot!
No! No!  Tickle those old ivories, good, bad, best, or not.

TALKING BECOMES ONE SO.

Today, I talked, long, to a total stranger
As if I’d known them, oh, well,  forever.
And my  words flowed pure and liquid
Like the cool, known calmness of a river
I’d not expected the gift of grace, never!
But I know, I’ll feel it always, yes, forever.

AT THE HEART OF IT
TRISH 2019
----------------
SMILE SWEET ONE, AND THEN, TASTE WITH TONGUE
THE BITTER LOLLY POP OF IT ALL. LAUGH LITTLE SOUL
AND WIPE THE TEARS FROM YOUR EYES AS YOUR WEE
BODY SHAKES WITH MIRTH, SLIPS AND SLIDES THROUGH DARKEST ALLEY WAYS,
FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY OF YOUR BIRTH

LISTENING
—————-
I can hear a whisper of silence,
It brushes, so close, to my ear
And if I can stand  ever so still
Who knows what I may hear?

DARK DAY

I’m tired, no,  I’m weary,
In, truth,  I’m really teary
To get on the track again
I’ll pray the word Amen.

AUNT MILLIE

I wish I could live in my dad’s chook pen
It’s always, so wonderfully cosy, so warm
Live with my favourite hen, our aunt Millie
She came to our house, the day I was born
Yes, our hen house is the place, I love most
And, aunt Millie, because she is very, special
Could welcome all, as either hostess or host.
